A Brief History

Sutton Transport was founded in 1979 by Frank (Butch) and Deb Sutton, initially as a cartage agent for Burlington Northern Air Freight. Over the years, Sutton’s footprint expanded, with key milestones including:

• Establishing its own operating authority in 1980.
• Expanding operations to multiple terminals across Wisconsin and beyond.
• Exiting the air freight business in 2000 to focus on LTL services.
• Continuously growing and adapting to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Today, Sutton Transport operates nationwide, with terminals strategically located to serve customers efficiently across the Midwest and beyond.

We also have terminals located in Wausau, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Madison, Tomah, Chicago, Highland, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Jefferson City, Springfield, Cape Girardeau, and Kansas City.
